To everyone who loves our lighthouse. Yesterday morning, on a dazzling August 22nd at the beach, the new airvane was installed! This means that the solar lighting equipment is back inside, weatherproof and charged up. Fiona blew our old airvane away - you will likely recall - and getting a new one proved very difficult. Labour shortage, material shortage and supply chain issues were the reasons, we were told. No surprise there! Seems to be the theme of 2023. Here you see the lighthouse at 7:30 am yesterday and then at about 11:00 am with the airvane in place. The multigenerational team who climbed up on top to do it are also shown.
